Mr.
Nunes has over thirty years of experience advising
and counseling privately held businesses in
a variety of industries. Prior to striking out
on his own, he held controllership positions
with both publicly held and privately held companies
and worked as a securities analyst and licensed
stockbroker.
In
addition to his private sector experience, Maury
served two governors of Virginia
as Chairman of the Board for Professional &
Occupational Regulation, which oversees commercial
licensing in Virginia.
He serves on the Business Advisory Board of
John Marshall Bank and has served on Boards
of Directors of various privately held companies.
He also has used his expertise in the roles
of advisor or committee member for charities
and educational institutions. Maury continues
to teach, with over 15 years experience, as
an Adjunct Professor in the MBA program at Georgetown
University
and in the Columbus School of Law at Catholic
University.
He
is the author of five books, including The
Right Price for Your Business (Wiley);
Balance Sheet Management (Wiley) and Operational
Cash Flow Management & Control (Prentice-Hall).
Dozens of articles of his have appeared in trade
and business publications such as American
Management Review; Small Business Strategies,
The Corporate Board Magazine and Commercial
Construction News.
Maury
earned a degree in finance and accounting from
the University
of Pennsylvania’s
prestigious Wharton School of Finance and Commerce,
as well as a political science degree from Penn’s
College of Arts & Sciences. Additionally,
he holds a law degree from Georgetown
University,
concentrated in taxation, business law and real
estate and has been licensed as an attorney
since 1975.
Maury
has been involved in structuring and completing
numerous business transactions, representing
